The day is winding down. It was a day full of the sound of the throaty Hercules engine at cruising speed out on the lake with the sun and the deep blue water wrapped around you.
The rhythmical rise and fall of the bow. Water spray caressing your face and arms. The gentle movement of the wheel and the obedient bank of the hull.

Now, the sound of water lapping gently at the hull as the wooden boat rests tied at anchor at sunset. It is so captivating that you cannot take your eyes off of it. Like the graceful, flowing lines of a beautiful woman in repose...

I remember the old wooden boats. I must confess that I am old enough to have ridden in them when most of them were the new wooden boats. From either perspective, though, they were and are classics in every sense of the word--representative of true quality and craftsmanship.
